VDC Group Trading Ltd is a leading disc and digital service provider for the Entertainment, Film, TV, Music, Corporate and Games industry and has always been at the forefront of technology.
VDC Group are the Official UK Partner of SONY DADC. The agreement provides market leading end-to-end physical and digital supply chain services.
The Solution
The Inventive Windows .NET Application Template provided the starting point for the Application. This provided the following features:
- menu structure
- user logins
- permissions
- data search
- export to excel
upon which specific VDC Group Trading functionality was built.
xml formats were agreed with SONY and modules were developed to uplift into SQL Server data tables.
Screen forms were provided to easily identify outstanding invoices, and to allow those invoices to be priced, generated as pdfs and distributed by email.
Sales and Purchase invoice information was able to be passed to the Financial packages.
A series of reports provided performance and customer information.
This was all completed on-time and to budget.
The Challenge
Manufacture and Financial information is received in xml file format on a daily basis from SONY. This provides the source information for:
- Sales Invoicing
- Financials
- Performance Reporting
Among the requirements from VDC were:
- ease of operation
- ability to deal with the volume of transactions
- accuracy and completeness of processing
- seamless integration with Financial package
- platform for additional reporting
